The Sermons of Tom Richards

May the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit Bless You and Keep You, Now and Forever. Amen.

Coincidence? (August 12, 2001)
Is there really such a thing as coincidence? Or is there a hand guiding us in all that we see, hear, and do?  This is my first sermon as a Lay Speaker.  It is actually more of a personal testimony on how I came to know our Lord. It is also another legacy to our granddaughter, Ali. For I feel that it has been her spirit, hand-in-hand with the Holy Spirit, that has brought me to this place in my walk through faith. I hope that I may hold your hand on this walk as well. Please come.

Flashing Your Soul (February 12, 2002)
Jesus said "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you." (NRSV; Matthew 28:19-20) A lot of Christians have difficulty sharing their faith and inviting others to join them in the fellowship of God.   This, my second sermon, speaks to the subject of letting your soul shine through to others. White, Wheat, or Pumpernickel? (November 10, 2002)
Obtaining the bread of life can seem difficult for many. Why do we have so many choices to make when it comes to worship? What does God really expect from us? This sermon ponders these concerns and offers a not-so-simple answer, but the conclusion is the Lord's command.

As The Shepherds Watched Their Flock (January 16, 2005)
We are all members of Jesus' flock, but as His flock grows He could use our help in watching over each other. This sermon was presented in an attempt to start a Shepherding staff of folks who would comfort all members of our congregation on more personal terms.

Serving God and Each Other (Laity Sunday, October 9, 2005)
We are put here on this earth to serve our God and each other. The Great Commission of Jesus states
"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you."

My Children (Mother's Day, May 14, 2006)
All Mother's are special. But here is a true story of a very special mother's sacrifice for her children and the sacrifice of all time.
